Location

The state of Yucatan is bordered on the north by the Gulf of Mexico, on the east and southeast by Quintana Roo, and on the west and southwest by Campeche.
The state's territorial range is 43,379 square kilometers; it has 106 municipalities and its capital is the City of Merida.
Two international airports in Yucatan, one in Merida and the other in Chichen Itza, are served by 7 airlines, connecting the state with national and international tourism. The southeast of Mexico, like the rest of the country and Central America, is linked by an efficient system of roads and highways, such as those leading to Cancun, Campeche and the port of Progreso.
